Salmon Tartar with Crispy Toast

I love salmon. I love tartar. And I am crazy about salmon tartar.

This tartar is made of lightly smoked salmon and cottage cheese which makes the tartar very fresh and light. The taste is perfectly balanced.

I got this recipe from my friend Klarka few years ago. She got it from one of the most creative executive chefs in Prague. And since that time I have prepared it many times for my family and friends. They liked it so much that they wanted the recipe also. So I translated it and  shared it with them, with lovely people who come from all around the world. Simple, yet new taste of salmon tartar for everyone.

Simple, yet new taste of salmon tartar for everyone.

Servings 4 persons, if it is starter

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g lightly smoked salmon
  • 150 g Cottage Cheese
  • 3 - 5 pieces spring onions accordingly to their size
  • 2 teaspoons capers
  • 2 teaspoons mustard very mild version of mustard
  • 1 teaspoon green peppercorns in brine drained and crushed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 tablespoon gin or vodka clear, without any flavour
  • lime

Notes

Cut the salmon into very small pieces.
Add Cottage Cheese (without any fluids), finely chopped capers, finely chopped spring onions, smashed marinated pepper, mustard, olive oil, gin or vodka and mix all together.
Toast white bread and serve with Salmon Tartare. Add pieces of lime.

Savignon Blanc, Chardonnay
